United States v. Michael Vick
Criminal No. 3:07CR274

General Information About Michael Vick's Sentencing on
December 10, 2007, 10:00 a.m.

Timing and Location

Please remember that other court proceedings are underway. Quiet, please!

• The Sentencing Hearing will be held in Chief Judge Spencer's Courtroom (# 339) on the 3rd floor. This courtroom holds approximately 100 people. Once the proceedings begin at 10:00 a.m., no visitors will be allowed to enter the courtroom. People can leave during the proceedings, but they will not be readmitted.

• An overflow courtroom with a live video feed will be set up in the U.S. Court of Appeals Green Courtroom (#201) on the second floor. This courtroom holds approximately 200 people.

• No assigned/reserved seating will be available. Both courtrooms will open at 9:00 a.m. for seating, and people will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis. You will be directed to the appropriate courtroom by the Court Security Officers.

• Based on the pattern from previous hearings, we expect that a line will form outside the courthouse prior to 8:00 a.m.

• The sentencing is expected to last from two to four hours.

• Reporters are not required to formally register before December 10. No special passes will be assigned.

• Coats/jackets will not be allowed in the courtroom. Coat racks will be provided.

• No cameras are allowed in the courtroom – or even in the building.

• Sketch artists are allowed and will be seated first-come, first-served, like everyone else.

Lot at 15th and Main Streets (honor lot); pay meter facing Main Street. Open 24 hours a day.
Lot at 13th and Main Streets; attendant present. Closes at 6 p.m.

.Obtaining Sentencing Documents

A copy of the Judgment in a Criminal Case will not be immediately available following the sentencing hearing. The availability of the Judgment will depend on many factors, including the length of the sentencing hearing. Once it has been filed, a copy of the Judgment may be obtained from the Clerk's Office or online from PACER. See "Case Documents".

To accommodate requests for copies as quickly as possible, we ask that you have a check payable to Clerk, U.S. District Court, or cash. Cash payments must be in exact change (50¢ per page), however, at this time, we do not have a page count. We do accept most major credit cards, but this will slow down the process considerably. Copies of the documents may also be obtained on-line from PACER. See “Case Documents.”
