The position of United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia is vacant. The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, under authority pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 546(d), seeks to consider qualified attorneys who wish to express interest in serving as the Interim United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia until the position is filled by a Senate confirmed candidate. If a person wishes to be considered by the Court for possible appointment by the Court under 28 U.S.C. § 546(d) as the Interim United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, that person shall complete and submit to the Clerk of the Court within 21 days (i.e. no later than February 10, 2026) the Questionnaire for Those Interested in Serving as the Interim United States Attorney for the Easten District of Virginia. All materials submitted will be kept in strict confidence. Additional requirements are listed below.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Qualified, interested individuals must submit three (3) items in one (1) PDF document: a cover letter, résumé, and Questionnaire for those interested in serving as the Interim United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia.
All materials must be received by 2/10/2026. Materials shall be submitted electronically to the Clerk of Court, Fernando Galindo, at Fernando_galindo@vaed.uscourts.gov. Hard copies and faxed copies of materials will not be accepted.
Only those selected for an interview will be notified. Those who do not receive an interview will not receive notice.
