The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia proposes changes to Local Civil Rule 83.3 and Local Criminal Rule 53 in light of modern technological advances.  Subsections (A)-(C) are the same changes that the Court proposed last year pending further review of Subsection (D).  The Court declined to adopt Subsection (D) as proposed in 2019 and has decided to move forward with adopting Subsections (A)-(C).

Below are redlined versions of the proposed amendments with a justification for each change, and a clean post-amendment version of each rule.
