Eff. January 9, 2023: Change in Masking Requirement - Robinson-Merhige Federal Courthouse, Richmond, VA

Friday, January 6, 2023

The CDC has elevated the City of Richmond to the “high” category for COVID-19 community levels.  Pursuant to the Eastern District of Virginia's current Masking Order, when a relevant city of one of the District’s divisions enters the high level as designated by the CDC, masking is required.  Therefore, effective Monday, January 9, 2023, masking is required at the Robinson-Merhige Federal Courthouse in Richmond, VA, as follows:

All individuals, regardless of vaccination status, are required to wear a well-fitting respirator (N-95, KN-95, etc.) or a surgical/procedure mask that covers their nose and mouth continuously in all indoor public areas unless it is medically unsafe for them to do so and they obtain permission from the Chief Judge or Senior Active Judge.
