Due to continued repairs associated with burst sprinkler pipes, the Newport News Division Courthouse will remain closed January 6-27, 2023.  Although the Newport News Courthouse will remain closed through Friday, January 27, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia is open.  Electronic filing remains unaffected and the Walter E. Hoffman U.S. Courthouse in Norfolk will be open for any necessary in-person transactions that cannot be conducted in Newport News.  The address for the Walter E. Hoffman U.S. Courthouse is 600 Granby Street, Norfolk, VA  23510.  More information regarding the Norfolk courthouse can be found on the Court's website.  

Unless additional needed repairs elongate the timeline, the Court expects to reopen the Newport News Division Courthouse on Monday, January 30, 2023.
