The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia proposes changes to Local Rules. A new Local Criminal Rule 32 is proposed, as well as amendments to Local Civil Rule 83.1 and Local Criminal Rule 57.4.
Below are redlined versions of the proposed amendments and a new rule with a justification for each, and a clean post-amendment version of each rule.
The new Local Criminal Rule 32 and the amendments to Local Civil Rule 83.1 and Local Criminal Rule 57.4 will take effect on January 18, 2023, subject to revision in light of any comments received. Interested parties may submit comments on the proposed amendments by U.S. mail or e-mail (see below) on or before December 27, 2022.
