The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia adopts changes to Local Civil Rule 7.1 after a period of public comment.
The amendments to Local Civil Rule 7.1 are adopted as previously proposed on October 27, 2022. The redlined version of the proposed amendments and the new rule and justification are linked below.
As a result of the amendments to Local Civil Rule 7.1, a new form has been approved. The new “Citizenship Disclosure Form” is required to be submitted to the Court when filing citizenship diversity cases.
There are no changes to the Court’s Financial Interest Disclosure Statement, which is also required in certain proceedings pursuant to Local Civil Rule 7.1.
The amendments to Local Civil Rule 7.1, and the accompanying “Citizenship Disclosure Form” go into effect today, December 1, 2022.
